Error 5B00 is a general error code for Canon Pixma Printer inkjets. This error indicates a waste ink absorber full error. This is a part in the printer that can be filled with old ink. To solve this error you will need to reset the printer.
Firstly, turn off the printer.
Then, press and hold the STOP/RESET button (red circle button) and the ON/OFF button (green circle button) simultaneously for 5 seconds.
Next, release the buttons and the printer will show a new dialogue window with a list of numbers and the words “Waste Ink”.
Finally, press the STOP/RESET button 4 times to reset the printer.
