Error 5B00 on Canon printers is a waste ink tank full error. The waste ink tank is a small device where the excess ink that is generated during the printing process is stored. When the tank gets full, the printer will display this error message.
To fix this error, you need to reset the waste ink counter on the printer. This can be done by following the steps below:
1. Power off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall.
2. Locate the waste ink tank on the printer. It is usually located near the rear of the printer.
3. Carefully remove the waste ink tank from the printer.
